“Vaccination is a Moral Obligation.”... Pope Francis. Suddenly we move from the Baptism of Jesus to his first public event and it is a Party! This is not untypical. Whereas John The Baptist refrained from parties, Jesus did not. This very day, Jesus is the Host at our Eucharistic table. Not only that, but symbolically he is the bride groom and we are the bride. And he serves us the best of wines. In this Covid time of restricted table fellowship, pray the the Spirit Of God moves among the stubborn unvaccinated and moves them out of their stubborn refusal to accept science and common sense. As Pope Francis reminded us this week vaccination is a MORAL OBLIGATION for the good of selves and the love of our neighbor.

Epiphany...an Illuminating Event...So needed NOW!

Turn! Turn!

Awaken from this nightmarish folly!

What is real? The shadowed growth of conspiracy?

or the Epiphany that pierces the dark of our fears and anxieties?

Is our worlds inside out or upside down?...

We gorge on opioids, heroin, fentanyl.

Yet a third of the nation refuses a saving vaccine.

Prophets in our midst are masked, yet gagged.

Social media sets the beat, calls the tune...

Unvacanated frolic down Freedom Lane,

much like the unexpecting sheep

being led to slaughter by the Judas Goat

”Turn! Turn! Echoes in corridors of grief...

An election denied—the bloated Big Lie!

Truth is malleable, forged, hammered.

into new shapes and wicked designs.

Shall we awaken from this nightmarish folly?...

Thunder rolls. Fires flash! Rain pelts!

At last a change from dust and drought.

Unbidden! Startling! Never too late

to be stirred from our torpor and folly.

JUST BEYOND!

Just beyond birthing pain...the joy of a child!

Just beyond the Inn’s locked doors...the joy of the crib.

Just beyond the straw of the crib..animals’ warming breath.

Just-beyond the edge of Solstice...the joy of awakening light.

Just beyond Covid’s dread...joyful Hope for better days.

Just beyond, Hope springs eternal.

Just beyond.

Never behind!

,,,,,,,,,,

Fact: The.holy Family were refugees seeking refuge in a foreign land.

Where do we find such Holy Families today?

John The Baptist: “Make straight...”

John was more popular than Jesus yet he prepared the way by calling people to straighten the way for the Lord.

Were John alive today he would be upbraiding so many who refuse to prepare the way by obtaining the vaccine. A recent headline announced: “AMERICANS HAVE FAILED THE TEST FOR THE COMMON GOOD.”

Only a quarter of our population have obtained the Booster.

This is an assault on the common good.

Health Care workers are in the front lines of a sagging bulwark resisting the virus.

They are in need of our support and prayers.

In today’s Gospel, Mary and Elizabeth rejoice over their pregnancies.

They are both beacons Of Hopeful expectation.

Where there is Love There is always Hope.

in this Advent Darkness opt for Hope.

Get the booster. It is the surest way to show your love for your neighbor.
