Peace and Mercy needed by the Earth and all upon it...

Shalom! Peace!...the first word of the Risen Christ!

"I see clearly that the thng the Church needs  most today is the ability to heal wounds and warm the hearts of the faithful...ministers of mercy above all."

Pope Francis

"I want to mention another threat to peace, which arises from the greedy exploitation of environmental resources..."

Pope Francis

This past week marked Earth Day and Arbor Day. As Earthlings we have been given the choice of living in and tending a garden OR laying waste for momentary gain. And when we lay waste, we soil the nests of future generations.

NEVER before have humans had the power to obliterate the earth. We do now and we can become monsters of degradation or wise relations to all who share the planet, with plants, animals, birds.

"So how much poison are you willing

to eat for the success of the

free market and global trade? Please

name your preferred poison....

In the name of patroitism and

the flag, how much of oue beloved

land are you willing to desecrate?

list in the following spaces

the mountains, rivers, towns, farms

you could most readily do without."

Wendell Berry

Mercy? Our Earth cries out for mercy!

Peace?  Exploitation, Ravaging the rain forests and pollouting the streams is a savage war, and we are all soldiers in this army of destruction!

Today two new saints are honored: Saint John XXIII and Saint John Paul II.

Perhaps St. John's most famous letter was "Pacen In Terris."

"Peace on Earth>"

Today we need peac WITH the earth, lest our future children live in a wasteland.

The hour is late....this must be wake up time for all of us.

Breakfast Question: Are we waking up?

Personal Reflection: What am I doing to bless the earth?
