Among all the words in the English language, there are no words with a deeper resonance than: "LOVE...LOVED ONES....AND HOME."

And those words explain Christmas.

God sent his Son out of love, sent him to loved ones to make his home with us.

On the 4th Sunday of Advent, King David wanted to construct a home for The Lord.
But Nathan informed him that the House of David, his descendants would be the HOUSE of The Lord.

And then in the Gospel, we learned that Joseph was of the house of David.

And now we know that you and I are to be a home for The Lord!

That is why before Holy Communion we pray:

"Lord I am not worthy that you should come UNDER MY ROOF..

Say the words of mercy and my soul shall be healed."

And so we pray:
Lord, the crib, the stable, were not worthy,
Nor was our world with all it's anguish, travail, and violence.
And yet you came to make your home with us!
You came to live in a home with loved ones.
Welcome home!
Welcome home!
Amen
