Common Sense: ZERO

IT IS FASCINATING HOW A FIERCELY DEDICATED MINORITY TRIUMPHS OVER THE MAJORITY WSHES EVERY TIME.

One reason: they are inspired,and the majority is not.

They are red hot. And the rest of us are lukewarm/

St. Paul tells us in the Second Reading: "Live by the Spirit..."

Surely the Spirit endorses common sense, but are we listening to the Sprit?

Or are we simply too numb, beguiled by the drone of escapism which urges us to "LOVE YOUR LAXATIVE?" *

DO YOU "LOVE YOUR LAXATIVE....OR RATHER YOUR NEIGHBOR?

So now we wait for the next slaughter by automatic weapons.

In today's Gospel, Jesus asked some to follow him....yet they had other tasks to perform before they could get around to that. 

Are we all too busy "loving our laxatives" and our guns which have become our idols, and other distractions as well?

And so we pray:

Come Holy Spirit

Awken us from our slumber.

You are the Spirit of LOVE

and we have perverted that word:

into loving our laxatives,

our precious guns,

and all our other distractions,

which numb our minds

and stifles our spirits, and THE SPIRIT.

COME HOLY SPIRIT!

COME HOLY SPIRIT.
