Beloved,bear your share of hardship for the Gospel with the strength that comes from God. TIM 1:8

Those words from today's Second Reading... and the Gospel is about TRANSFIGURATION.

I belueve sometimes we get glimpses of transfiguration from so many who share hardships.

Two examples:

My classmate whose wife left him for another man after 53 years of marriage, Now has half hs colon removed, wears a bag, and just had a cancerous tumor removed from his ear which let him deaf!

And he is not bitter, and never complains.

That is a knd of transfiguration!

My friend Mary Clare just diagnosed with leukumia, and yet keeps a song in her heart.

These kinds of folks are inspiring and humbling.

Lent is about taking up our cross.

They do so daily.

And so we pray:

Deliver us from self pity, and complaining.

as we make our Lenten journey,

let us glimpse transfiguration:

"the illumination of beauty"

which shines all around us.

Amen
