Thirty First Sunday In Ordinary Time, Nov. 3, 2013

Zacchaeus! Come down, I must stay at your house today!"
Have you ever been, Too fat? Too skinny? Too short? Too much of anything? Then rejoice because the Lord wants to stay at your house today!
Zacchaeus went "out on a limb" to see The Lord passing by. It was his only recourse since all the "IN" people lined the road and there was no room for him to see. He was the clever Danny Devito of his day.
He was also a sinner, but one who still cared for the poor!
And that was enough for Jesus to give him a place of honor.

Let us pray...
Jesus of Nazareth, you are still passing by.
Help us to see you in Zacchaeus,
Who tries to get in across the border,
And In all the marginalized who are shut out.

BREAKFAST QUESTION: Have you ever felt like Zacchaeus?
PERSONAL REFLECTION: Who do I know who feels shut out?

[I am onboard Crystal Symphony on the Atlantic heading south. Today I will have morning mass for Catholics, a Protestant service, and tonight at 11 pm mass for Filipino crew members.]
