THE LOVE OF GOD HAS BEEN POURED INTO OUR HEARTS THROUGH THE SPIRIT OF gOD DWELLING WITHIN US.  ROMANS 5:5

Take courage, my children, call upon God; he will deliver you from all oppression, from enemny hands.I have put my hope for your deliveance, in the Eternal One and joy has come.

Baruch 4:21

These words of encouragment are timely for the times in which we live are difficult.

"The radio is the means we have of converting the masses."

Joseph Gobbels

And now it is the Internet, a channel for good and evil. Witness ISIS

In the midst of shadows, stands Pope  Francis.

He is a beacon of hope and encouragement.

On this Feast of Pentecost, we realize all things are possible. I recently visited with a prisoner of Auchwitz. Because she was young, 14, the Nazis did not kill her because of her value as a worker. But all her family went to the ovens. In the closing days of the war, the Nazis abandoned the camp and drove prisoners down a road. In the dark of night she and three other gIrls escaped, and fled through a field to a farm house, where food was simmering on the stove, abandoned by Germans fleeing from the advancing Russians.

Hitler has come and gone. "Sic transit gloria mundi!" and "the glamour of evil." has evaporated.

And so we pray:

From depths of fear and chaos

Holy Spirit sieze us.

Raise us from the murky deep--

out of swirling and choking waters.

Emerge from the cyclonic center

of ou inner chaos.

Deliver us from the eye of the storm.

Energy of the Spirit move us.

 ...When we are bogged down,

And tomorrow seems a dark dream,

Spirit wind rattle our windows

Lightning Spirit waken us.

Stir us from inertia, fear and cynicism.

Change "life is not fair!"

to: "We can! We will!"

Amen
