30th Sunday in Ordinary Time

At present I am sailing on Holland American Westerdam down west coast to SAN Diego,
so short reflection:

"Thank God I am not like the rest of men!"

 

''This parable is the epitome of arrogance.

We all have "shadow sides." Parts of our psyche, hidden from our conscious awareness.

Over a long period of time, I have discovered the shadow of arrogance in mine.

I do have strong opinions!

I AM opinionated.

I AM judgmental.

What about you?

If you are Republican and think ALL of the truth is on your side...
Beware of your shadow!

If you are Democrat, and think ALL of the truth is on your side ...
Beware of your shadow!

"Shadow people"... that is,  all of us need the prayer of the Publican.

And so we pray
"O Lord, be merciful to me a sinner!"
