In the last century, "Prairie Schooners" plodded their way across the plains of Nebraska
pulled by slow moving oxen.

Their burden was heavy. Today Jesus tells us His yoke is light.

"All you who labor..." not so long ago there were no child labor laws.."

Children went into the mines and never saw the light of day!

This week in Minnesota the minimum wage was raised to $15 an hour...praise God!

Today, because of belonging to a union, a cousin putting up siding is making $34 an hour:
A LIVING WAGE which the Church has loving advocated.

Yet union membership has shrunk.

When we pull our burdens, our consolation is that The Lord pulls with us.

He is the strength of the weak.

And so we pray:

When we are weak,
You are our strength.
When we falter,
You raise us up.
Come Lord Jesus!
Lift us up!
Amen
