A Star Is Born!

A Star Is Born!.......Our night sky is carpeted with million of stars.

But it only took one to guide the Wise Ones to the crib.

In Hollywood, we honor luminaries with their star in the sidewalk.

Our "stars" "look good." but their glimmer is too often a facade.

The crib reveals the real thing:

the Real Star of the Universe.

The Magi were wise because they could discern the Real Thing from the fraudulent.

Fools' Gold glitters but soon loses its sheen.

Epiphany shines the spot light the Real.

And so we pray:

O God deliver us from illusions.

Magi seek wisdom.

Magicians play tricks.

Con men deceive us: "The Mexicans will surley pay

for our beautiful wall, so we can keep THEIR KIND out."

On this Feast of Light,

shine your light of wisdom into our hearts.

Illumine them with truth.

Star so bright,

guide us to the perfect Light.

Amen
