Now is the time to awake from sleep!

Yes!

How are we asleep this Advent?

Are we numbed from Black Friday shopping?

Are we disintersted in Inpeachment?

Are we numbed to suffering all around us?

Advent is a time to thaw out, not be frozen in impotence.

Change is all around us.

Nature speaks to us of endings.

Yet Advent is counter cultural.

It is the season of beginnings.

It is the season to rise from slumber, not hibernate in dens.

Shake off despair.

Lift up your hearts and heads.

The light will shine in our darkness.

And so standing up, lookin ahead, we pray:

Come light

into our darkness.

Come light into our slumbrt.

Come light.

Enlighten our path.

Warm our chilled hearts.

Lead us through sluggishness.

The light will shine in our darkness!

Amen
