Were the first Christians Communists?

Of course not atheistic communists....but they, as disciples of Christ, who demanded they love their neighbor, did provide a safety net for one another.

This was some form of Christian Socialism, just as Social Security provides a safety net for the elderly in our day.

So "socialism" is not a dirty word in itself.

In simplest terms it means looking out for one another.

Does Thomas get a bad rap for doubting?

He should not. Don't we all doubt at one time or another?

Doubt is a part of the process of thinking.

We make the leap from doubt to faith, and then we hold on to the foothold provided by Grace. Indeed it is the energy of Grace that enables us to make the leap of faith.

That is why we call Grace--Amazing!

And so we pray:

Amazing Grace

save a wounded me

from darkness.

Let me walk anew

in the Easter Light.

Lord have mercy.

Christ have mercy.

Amen
