Troubled Waters

The Gospel has Jesus walking across troubled waters on the Sea of Galilee.

In `1981 I made a  once in a lifetime journey to the Holy Land and to Egypt.

Usually pilgrims go out on a boat on the Sea of GALILEE.

Not so for us.

A gale was blowing down from the Golan Heights,

and the Sea WAS AS IT ONCE WAS WHEN JESUS WALKED UPON IT.

I remember how the wind shook the shutters of our hotel.

Covid has been like an angry sea of troubled waters.

It brings to mind the song Bridge Over Troubled Waters.

The vaccine has come as our bridge, praise God!

Shakesphere has wise advice applied to the vaccine;

"There is a tide in the affairs of men,

which taken at it's flood, leads on to fortune,

omitted, all the voyage of their life, is bound in shallows and in miseries."

Sieze the moment! Get vaccinated!
