Prepare The Way Of The Lord!

 

In our Covid dark we seek the way of the Lord. John the Baptist leads us on this quest, but others do as well.

 

My boyhood friend and classmate Ron is such a light.

in his youth he served in the Coast Guard.

His ship was a light in the dark.

Now bed ridden he himself is a beacon in my Advent dark.

Last summer he had a large tumor removed from his face. Prior to that a brain tumor left him totally deaf.

a month ago he broke his hip.

Now this week he is in hospital with Covid.

in all of this never a word of complaint.

If John the Baptist Is an heroic Advent figure, So is Ron.

Despite losing his wife of over 50 years to another marriage,

never any words of bitterness. As Jesus said “Here is a man without guile!“Nor any bitter spirit.

Walk with John AND Ron prayerfully through this Advenr dark.
