"The first religious experience is walking." Pope Francis It is what the Holy Family did all the way to Egypt. It is what many migrant families do today, seeking better lives for their children in what they perceive to be better and safer places. The Holy Family was a migrant family. I have driven across the Sinai desert. It is unforgiving. I have also visited the Church of The Flight into Egypt in Cairo. What an epic flight just to protect the Christ Child! PRAYER FOR FAMILIES O GOD, HELP FAMILIES IN OUR DAY TAKE FLIGHT FROM: ...violence on our streets, The corrosive effects of excesses of video violence, Porn spewed out of computers, Gluttony and greed, Parental neglect, Infidelity, Addiction. HOLY FAMILY, GUIDE US THROUGH THE WASTELANDS ON THE PATH TO THE PROMISED LAND. AMEN
