"God so loved the world that he gave his onlySon.."
In Holy Ireland, Saint Patrick came down from Mount Crough Patrick, took the shamroce in hand and began to teach the pagan Celts about the Holy Trinity. Like the shamrock: the three in one God.
Also the Celtic Cross reveals a God who encircles and is very close. No saint revered the earth more than he who cherished Irelamd's mountains and its streams. His Breast Plate prayer reveals this:
"I arise today
through the strength of heaven,
Light of sun.
Radiance of moon.
Splendor of fire.
Speed of lightning.
Swiftness of wind.
Depth of sea.
Stability of earth.
Firmness of rock.
"I arise today through the invocaton of the Trinity,
Through belief in its threeness,
Through confession of its oneness,
of the creator of creation."
"God so loved the world..." means that God loves not only the world we construct, but the primal earth which is the womb of all life!
