The Steward is "sharp."

The Master praises the unjust steward for his astuteness. So what is going on here? Take a current example. The House Hearings .were made into a circus by the clever stonwalling of the witness last week

The children of light too often fail to outshine the children of the dark.

To be pious and dumb does not equate with being pious and sharp.

The steward is a likable character althogh being a rogue.

He knows he cannot dig...knows his own limitations, so he relies on cleverness to find a workable option.

And so we pray:

Give us wisdom,

the attendant at your throne.

Let her guide us through the complexities of living.
