EPIPHANY, FEAST OF LIGHTS, OF THE STAR, OF THE WISE ONES WHO SOUGHT THE LIGHT!

The ancient Wise Persons walked with their heads up and their eyes toward the stars. Theirs was a posture of exploration, of hope, of destiny, of openness to wondrous surprise. They were willing to learn the way to the Christ Child.

That same posture can be ours. Brain scientists tell us our brains have a plasticity for adding new neurons and deeper knowledge.

But the pursuit of wisdom demands a humble openness, a realization that we do not have all the answers . . . and those who cross our path, no matter how rich or poor, can widen the horizons of our minds and spirits.

MARGO
She was a table companion on my recent cruise. She later wrote to me:
"I make friends with the "help" on cruises. I bought my room stewardess a necklace with a seahorse on it after she admired my dolphin necklace made of blue stone. I want her to remember me when she wears it. She has a 9 year old daughter at home in Croatia with grandparents, and this mom works 12 hours each day on the ship. I cannot imagine being away from loved ones for months at a time. Anyway, meeting people from other countries is always a highlight for me."

Thus it was so for the Magi from the east. They brought gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh, as they met strangers on their path.

Margo brought a gift of a seahorse.

Wisdom demands we recognize our own beautiful giftedness and share it.

Notice, Margo described her gift giving as a HIGH LIGHT.
IT WAS THUS HER BRIGHT STAR, "A High Light" GUIDING HER ON HER PATH.
